Currently, the plastics industry in Angola is characterized by a growing demand for flexible packaging, driven by the urban expansion of Luanda and Benguela. However, many local factories still rely on outdated film blowing machine units that lack energy efficiency and precision control, leading to high material waste.
Environmental factors, specifically the humid tropical climate and coastal salinity, pose significant challenges to equipment longevity. The lack of specialized local maintenance for a high-end blown film extrusion machine often results in prolonged downtime, forcing manufacturers to seek more robust, "tropicalized" machinery.
Despite these hurdles, there is a strategic shift toward localizing the production of shopping bags and agricultural films to reduce import dependency. This has created a surge in demand for a reliable blown film line that can handle varying grades of HDPE and LDPE resins effectively.
